Fair Wear and Tear Policy
At VuCompare, we understand that normal usage of a leased vehicle may result in wear and tear over time. Our fair wear and tear policy outlines acceptable levels of wear and tear for vehicles returned at the end of the lease term.
Definition of Fair Wear and Tear
Fair wear and tear refers to the deterioration of a vehicle that occurs through ordinary use during the lease term. It does not include damage resulting from accidents, neglect, misuse, or improper maintenance.
Acceptable Wear and Tear
The following are examples of acceptable wear and tear:
- Minor scratches and chips on the exterior paint
- Normal wear on tires consistent with mileage
- Interior wear such as minor stains and scuffs
- Small dings or dents that do not affect the vehicle's functionality
Assessment of Wear and Tear
When you return your leased vehicle, our team will conduct a thorough inspection to assess the level of wear and tear. We will consider the age and mileage of the vehicle, as well as any excess wear and tear beyond normal usage.
Excess Wear and Tear
If the vehicle exhibits excessive wear and tear beyond what is considered normal, you may be responsible for additional charges. Excess wear and tear may include:
- Significant dents, scratches, or damage to the exterior
- Excessive wear on tires requiring replacement
- Interior damage beyond normal wear, such as tears or stains
- Mechanical or electrical issues due to neglect or misuse
